Tech Manager
About the role
Tarsier Studios is looking for a Tech Manager to join our team of talented game developers. In this role, you will have about fifteen direct reports in the Tech-department, who work on everything from gameplay to tools. You will be reporting to our Tech Director.
When setting goals and development plans for your team, you will be collaborating closely with the Tech Craft Leads, who are active developers themselves whilst supporting with feedback, reviews, and setting expectations in terms of how the craft is carried out. Our Senior Developers also support with mentorship for our Junior Developers.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Close collaboration with the Craft Lead to set goals and career development plans for your team members
- Regular one-on-ones with your team members to follow up on how they are doing, developing, collaborating, and what support they might need
- Providing your team members with regular feedback on growth and performance
- Team development
- Acting as hiring manager in any team recruitments
- Onboarding and offboarding of team members
- Supporting your team members in any health related issues and guiding them to the right support, in collaboration with the People & Culture-team
- Support your team members in any work related rehabilitation processes that may arise
- Administrative tasks such as approving your team members’ time reports, and vacation applications

We believe that you have:
- 3+ years of experience working as a People Manager in a similar role
- A genuine interest in people and in helping them grow in their roles
- Professional experience coding in C++
- Previous experience working in the games industry
- Knowledge and experience working with Unreal Engine
- A strong ability to build trustful relationships and collaborate with colleagues from different crafts and disciplines to create the best platform for our Developers to perform, develop and enjoy their work
It’s a bonus if you also have:
- Experience working as a People Manager in the games industry
Applicants must hold a Swedish or EU/EEA citizenship or valid work permit for Sweden as we unfortunately are unable to support relocation from outside the EU at the moment.
This position is full time based out of our studio in Malmö, where we apply a hybrid setup. The employment will start with a probation period of 6 months.
Currently employing around 65 people, Tarsier Studios is a game development studio based in the vibrant city of Malmö, Sweden. We are the developers of Statik and the award winning Little Nightmares franchise.
